Wednesday Night I had the pleasure of joining D.C area Socialites and Tastemakers at the Remy Martin V Unveiling Private Dinner held at Lincoln in NW D.C. We enjoyed a 3-course dinner and 4 select cocktails to accompany each stage of the meal, designed specifically using Remy Martin’s new clear Spirit “V”. This dinner marked the first consumption and promotion of Remy V in the D.C Market. Ladies this is a spirit that I can see you enjoying. While your man is enjoying that VSOP in the club you can sip on V and keep it cute. Remy doesn’t sacrifice its reputation of potency with this spirit however it is definitely a more tame and mixable version of its label mate VSOP. As of April 1st you will be able to purchase Remy V all over D.C, so grab a bottle and give it a try. When you try tweet me @EricaVain and use the hashtag #RemyVDC

#TeamVain had the pleasure of Attending X-Rated Fusion Night out with Necole Bitchie last evening. It was held at the Fathom Creative Art Gallery and was an event for true tastemakers and socialites. So many great young, inspiring and motivated people gathered in one room to network, flirt and celebrate being great! The Host was none other than Blogging Royalty Necole Bitchie who kept the party going from interviews to photo ops and even a lil two stepping…LOL… She looked absolutely #Bitchie and Fab in her Hot Pink Cuffed Short Sleeved dress and super high calf-boots.
I was able to grab a few seconds of Necole’s time and actually got her to leak and EXCLUSIVE!!! After discussing briefly her move to LA and how risky it was, Necole went on to reveal that she has some acting gigs in the works as well as a BLOGGING REALITY SHOW!!! YESSSS !!!
I really wanna get into reality TV, but not in a way that is demeaning or will tarnish my brand. My main goal is to show younger girls what I do everyday. I’m not just behind a computer, The business side of things they don’t see. And to inspire them because its nothing that I did that anybody else couldn’t do.
Necole Bitchie is HEADED TO YOUR TV!!!! No word yet on a timeline for the release of this project but keep your eyes peeled because thats one Bitchie Chick thats on the move. I think that is wonderful and with such great brains, beauty and branding behind her no one can really speculate what she can and will do next. I think that its absolutely wonderful, speaking on her entire story and I hope that others are as inspired as I am. Watch the entire interview below:
It was 10 years ago today that an incredible musical talent was taken from this world. Aaliyah Dana Haughton died at the prime age of 22 on August 25, 2001. I can still remember watching the coverage of the terrible plane crash that took her life like it was yesterday. I lit a 100 candles in my backyard as a way to memorialize her. I could never imagine what those close to her felt in this loss however I truly feel like I lost something I adored in my life. her music was inspirational, down-to earth, honest, full of feelings and then some. Her smile was inviting and electric. Girls wanted to be just like her and Guys wanted to be with her. She was the epitome of a strong, successful, focus and intelligent black woman. Aaliyah we miss you and will never forget. Your memory lives on. WE LOVE YOU!!!

I had the pleasure of coming into the DTLR & UnRuly Record Offices yesterday to meet the beautiful and talented Melanie Fiona. This soulful songstress was absolutely gorgeous in her self proclaimed “radio promo look” rocking a pair of great aviators, jeans , t-shirt and camel colored sweater. I sat down with Mel to discuss her upcoming album which she states will be out “Summer ish”, be it early summer, mid-sumer, late summer or indian summer. LOL!!!! Universal lets get on that!!! I know I’m excited to listen and relate to “The M F Life”. The title means whatever you want or need it to mean. For me I guess that means “The Mutha F*cking Life” …
*kanye shrugs* .
Watch the Video Interview below to learn more about Mel!!!
Shout Out to Beyonce & MOM, the fabulous Mss Tina Knowles!! They are not only ontop of the music and fashion game (with a temporary tattoo empire on the rise) but now the amazing duo is branching out into HomeStyle. Specifically BEDDING!!! Will You Buy and Sleep in Beyonce’s Sheets?
Sara Stokes best known for her particpation in Season 2 of Diddy’s Formerly hit show “Making the Band” seems to love being better known as punching bag. Stokes and her no name husband are now on the breathes of every entertainment journalist because the couple has experienced another domestic dispute. What the F*^K girl? You forgave him once… You have done your good deed for society or put the forgiving spirit into your Karma. It’s about time you move on before you end up dead boo. Anyway the Husband was quoted saying to TMZ that his relationship is dysfunctional but he loves his wife. I’ll take none IKE TURNER love for 300 Alex… I’m just saying!! Love don’t cost a thing and it damn sure don’t cost frequent ass whippings. *kanye shrugs*

Recognize the fact that you must LOVE yourself before you can Truly LOVE anyone else. Many of us hear this statement but don’t take the time to recognize it for what it means. LOVE yourself FIRST, UNCONDITIONALLY & UNAPOLOGETICALLY and Love for other will come!

I am a firm believer that love has it’s stages. You grow to LOVE someone more and more you don’t just Fall in LOVE and then all of a sudden that is the highest degree of LOVE you will ever have for that person. The more you get to know someone, the more time you spend with them, the more you feel as though you can relate to them, trust them, respect them and want them the GREATER THE LOVE you have for that person will grow. More often than not in our community people are jumping into relationships, f*ck buddy arrangements, friends with benefit deals all without EVER truly being friends first. I guess that is all fine and good if all you are looking for is a good screw but 90% of you especially the women will say that deep down they want a companion. A companion they will never find with the formula that our society has come to accept. Women stop giving yourself away so quickly, make the man work for you. Meaning put in time to get to know you and effort that will show his true intentions. Men raise your standard and walk away from the table when a female offers you it all so quickly and easily. We have forgotten the art of relationships once we are actually in them because no ground work or foundation was laid for you to build. No not everyone will be Mr./Mrs. Right, but that doesn’t mean you stop looking for this person. That does not mean you concede to a mediocre life of screwing and on to the next. Figure out what you want and in more cases than not it will be ONE person to be in your corner at all times, ONE person to help push you and make you better, ONE person to share your hopes and fears with, ONE person that will do all they can to give you WORLD CLASS SEX as much as you can handle it. Most of you will figure out that you do indeed want that ONE COMPANION.
On this day in 1956 University of Alabama accepted its first Black Student!!!
Seek Education…
Go out into the world: GROW & LEARN!!!!
Be a better person tomorrow than you are today!!!
This does not mean that you have to go to college if you don’t really want to but this does mean that you should be actively pursuing knowledge in your life. We learn more from LIVING than we ever can from reading or hearing about something. SO LEARN… LIVE… Make mistakes and GROW from them. Make it so that each day your working for a better tomorrow for yourself, your family and your culture!!!! That is what was done for us years ago and I refuse to not push through my potential and let all the lives that fought and died for my future to be great to have done so in VAIN….
