Classical music with a modern undertone played softly as the models walked the runway for Valentino’s A/W haute couture 2012 collection. Timeless elegance was the overall tone of the show as garment after garment exemplified the age old essence of ladylike grace. Valentino’s collection comprised of designs that were all elegant, glamorous and simple. Easy, chic, classic silhouettes floated down the runway showcasing several trends including; floral, embroidery, chiffon, floor length silhouettes and colors –red, navy, yellow. The collection seemed to have been inspired by both Eastern and Western cultures and the entire collection was expertly designed, coordinated and styled.
The message in this collection seemed to be that you can still stand-out while being simple. The garments were not over designed or over accessorized, which allowed viewers to appreciate the artistry that was the masterful construction and thoughtful detailing of each of Valentino’s couture pieces. Front row at Valentino couture 2012 were celebrities including; Shala Monroque, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Clémence Poésy, Olivia Palermo, Nicky Hilton, Jessica Stam.
