Blue hair, bad-ass fashion sense and a brain to boot! Business -Savvy Olori Swank is a grinding celebrity stylist with a warn and humble personality and unmatchable drive. She has styled many of our favorite celebs such as Trey Songz, Tyrese, Keyshia Cole, Teyana Taylor, and more!!!! EricaVain.com caught up with Olori recently and was able to get all the tea on her current projects, personal style and advice to others looking to be the next her!

Erica Vain:We are here for the BET Hip Hop Awards Style Lounge and you are hosting. You are great person to host because you are a stylist to the stars, can you tell us a little about that?

Olori Swank: Yes. It’s funny I actually use to style the BET Hip Hop Awards. I have a client this year, Childish Gambino who is in the cypher. After the BET Hip Hop Awards go off my client Keyshia Cole has her show, Keyshia and Daniel Family First. Thats just a few of the things I’m working on now. Erica Vain: How is it working with Keyshia Cole

Olori Swank: I love Keyshia. Keyshia is awesome, its almost like styling your favorite homegirl. She knows what she likes, she knows what she doesn’t like. Her and I are building a trust relationship. So Its like with any kind of relationship the more we work together the more she is “like well I really don’t like that but I’ll try it this time because you suggest it”. In the beginning she was like “girl goodbye i’m not wearing that”. But now things have gotten a little better… Its like any relationship. She is a great personality, has an awesome spirit and she is super easy to work with.

Erica Vain: You don’t seem to have one particular style, you seem to switch it up and try alot of things is there any significant Olori Swank swag that you put on Keyshia specifically? That we would know that you styled that.

Olori Swank: Even though my style is very what I call emotional I kind of dress for how I am feeling that day. I dress to create personalities. Depending on how my clients are feeling is how I dress them however what you will notice is that my looks are very clean. Even if they are funky I don’t like to over do it. I like to do the most without doing the utmost if that makes sense. If im doing a bunch of colors I will do a bunch of colors I will do a bunch of solids. If im doing a bunch of different patterns I might just do a simple black shoe, I like to keep things clean and not too busy or distracting.

Erica Vain: I read on the Fashionbomb that your style is emotional ….

Olori Swank: Yeah I am a very emotional dresser. Today I’m giving the whole little monochromatic situation with the shoe, yesterday I had on 8 gold teeth at the bottom of my mouth and I was sagging some boyfriend pants. Like my style is just however I’m feeling that day.
