Karl Lagerfeld has just made Lily-Rose Depp (daughter of Johnny Depp) the new ambassador of Chanel and fronting the campaign for their new Pearl-eyewear collection.

She and her mother, Vanessa Paradis who has also been a spokesmodel for the Chanel since 1991 and a close friend of Lagerfeld, were recently seen at the brand’s Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week.

When explaining why he chose Lily-Rose Lagerfeld says, “She’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star. [In the photoshoot, she is a] baby-doll in a world imbued with sweetness and femininity.”

The campaign featuring Depp will not debut until September but Chanel did share a 12-second long clip of the shoot.

However, some argue that she posed too provocatively in the shoot and has criticized Johnny Depp for it. But judging from this 12 second clip it seems like a bit of an overreaction.
